Hunt for near-naked man who stole bottles of whisky from off-licence

A thief was captured on CCTV breaking into an off-licence and escaping with several bottles of whisky while wearing just his socks and with a pink t-shirt on his head.



The man was filmed pulling items off the shelves in the shop in Port Shepstone, South Africa. Basil Lanka, who directs security firm LAZER 911, is investigating the break-in.



He said: “We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw the footage. The thief was as naked as the day he was born, helping himself to the merchandise. We went looking for a naked man with several bottles of very expensive whisky but he got away.

“He probably thought the sensors wouldn’t pick him up if he was naked. Then again, he probably didn’t want cameras recording what he was wearing, or he could have used his clothes as a makeshift bag for what he stole.”
