Motorist fined for false IMANOB number plates

Highway patrol officers spotted a Jeep bearing 'IMANOB' number plates in Hampton Park, Melbourne, Australia, on Tuesday afternoon.

Checks confirmed the car had been unregistered for almost three years, with the driver providing only a short explanation for the crime.

When asked why he was driving an unregistered car with false plates, the driver provided the reason reflective of his plates. "Because I'm a nob," the man said.

After slight confusion and a gesture towards the plates, the police realised what he meant and fined him more than $1,000 for driving an unregistered car and displaying false plates.
