Man put stop to karaoke party by smashing machine with shovel

A pumping karaoke party in Tully in far north Queensland, Australia, was brought to a crashing halt when a man, outraged by the musical repertoire of guests, attacked the offending machine with a shovel.

The house party was believed to have been raging for some time on Friday when the man was thought to have taken offence to the vocal stylings of some guests who were testing their singing skills with the portable karaoke machine.

Police said he went to the home at about 11.50pm carrying a shovel and used it to smash the machine several times before leaving. He also expressed his unhappiness to party guests before his swift departure. "It is believed that he walked in and just struck it and left," an Innisfail police spokesperson said.

The incident quickly become the talk of Tully as word spread and a local publican said it left him and his staff in stitches. The shovel-wielding party pooper is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 175cm tall with a proportionate build, aged in his 50s with blond and grey hair and a moustache.

I don't blame him at all. All karaoke singers should be strangled.
