Cyril Osment, 83, of Alweston, Dorset, noticed the prosthesis was missing when he returned home from the trip in his car last week

Mr Osment had his nose removed last year because of cancer. He described the news that Salisbury District Hospital had started to prepare a replacement prosthetic nose as "marvellous".
The original silicone replacement nose had been held in place by magnets but Mr Osment had said it had recently started to fall off. He had said the nose could have been mistaken for a joke nose.
