Hammer attack on bisexual Punch and Judy puppeteer’s dog may have 'homophobic motive'

A dog that was beaten with a hammer may have been attacked because of her owner's sexuality, Guernsey Police have said.



Jenny Harding, 25, went out to feed six-year-old Alice on Thursday morning and found her pet’s eye was bulging. A bloody, flat-headed hammer was lying nearby. Alice has since had an eye removed.

Someone had also daubed the words ‘Die filthy queer’ on the back of her blue and yellow polka-dot van, which she uses for her Punch and Judy shows.



A police spokesman said Ms Harding, who is bisexual, may have been targeted.
