Puppy chased owner's car after being dumped outside RSPCA centre

A puppy chased after a car after being dumped by its owner at the gates of an RSPCA centre. A car pulled up at the gates of the RSPCA Animal Centre and Hospital, in Frankley near Birmingham on Wednesday.

The owner then made the young Staffordshire bull terrier get out of the car before speeding off, leaving the animal confused and frightened. The puppy then desperately tried to follow the car by running after it, but was too late. Luckily she was picked up by two caring passers-by. The incident was captured on CCTV.

RSPCA staff have released the footage in the hope someone will recognise the silver Renault car so they can trace the owner and prosecute them. The six-month-old Staffie, who was wearing a pink diamante collar, is now being cared for by the RSPCA, where staff have named her Tinsel.

Centre manager Elaine Buchan said: “It was really hard for staff to watch the CCTV and see this incident unfold and then watch at this driver just speed off leaving this puppy alone. As she starts to follow the car your heart just breaks for her, she’s been dumped alone and left confused – just because someone doesn’t want her anymore. It is even more upsetting that this has been done just before Christmas.”

Some people are just so heartless,no empathy...i accept they may have found it on the street but there are still proper ways of doing things.
