It was spotted on the side of Tryfan mountain and was unable to move out of danger, said a spokesman.
Staff using ropes lowered themselves 100m (328ft) on to the ledge to rescue the animal despite difficult weather conditions.

It was caught and put in a sack to enable it to be taken to safety. Inspector Mike Pugh said: "Once released from the bag the sheep was so hungry he just stayed nearby feeding, while we sorted out all the ropes and equipment."

I have no idea how you get a sheep into a bag without everyone being displeased.

Maybe it was used to being handled by men standing behind it, a love ewe.
